THE STORY OF SESONKI

Gastro Bar Sesonki is a cozy restaurant devoted to the wonderful seasons. Our philosophy is based on friendly service, excellent food, and carefully selected wines and craft beers from small breweries.

We serve handmade, delicious and beautiful food made of quality ingredients. Our food philosophy is inspired by the lush food markets of Central Europe. True to our name, Sesonki, Season in Finnish, we embrace the idea of using only the freshest, seasonal ingredients brought daily from the delicatessen stalls.

We serve lunch on weekdays, including a three course menu. On evenings we warmly recommend our five course ‘Surprise’-tasting menu. We also serve a a la carte menu with exciting dishes. Sundays are devoted to weekly changing brunches, where plentiful starters are served for the whole party to share. Individual main courses are served to the table while desserts can be chosen from the dessert buffet.

OUR TEAM

MATTI JÄMSEN

Restorateur
“I’m incredibly excited to have been given the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a restaurant. After a long career in consulting and competitions, it is fantastic to be able to make good , honest food to good, honest people. My own food philosophy is seasonally based and increasingly built on top quality ingredients and simple methods of cooking. First and foremost, all dishes should inspire the customers with their pure and clean taste as well as their appealing appearance. Our team gets to choose their ingredients fresh from the shop, much like our Central European colleagues, who pick their foods fresh from food markets.”

LAURA VÄISÄNEN

Restaurant Manager

“I started following my Godmother’s steps in the restaurant business when I was young, and the spark is still alive after over two decades. The best reward I can get as a manager, is to see the whole staff work together as a team, always creating more unique experiences for our customers! Having experienced the mountains of Lapland, Helsinki’s heartbeat as well as faraway lands, it is awesome to open a restaurant with some incredible colleagues in my hometown of Järvenpää.”

LASSE LINDSTRÖM

Head chef

“I’m a child of the late 80’s, Järvenpää born and bred, with several top Finnish restaurants in my CV. In the kitchen I’m well known for great jokes, insane musical talents and constant high level performance whether it’s dishes or tunes. What’s important in my life, apart from fresh top quality ingredients and cooking from scratch, have always been my family and especially my children. I want to be there to offer our customers great and unique experiences with food and drink.”
